Following recent public health emergencies, it has become evident that Public Health Intelligence (PHI) capacities vary significantly across countries. To address these gaps and strengthen the global PHI workforce, the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence, together with its partners and collaborators, has developed a competency-based Framework and Curriculum.
The Public Health Intelligence Competency Framework outlines essential competencies and tasks required for professionals engaged in PHI activities.

The PHI Competency Framework is structured around four technical domains aligned with the PHI process, and one functional domain covering essential competencies beyond technical skills.
