The purpose of this work is to: present concise histories of families the Allegheny Valley, which extends through Allegheny, Westmoreland, Armstrong, Clarion, Venango, Forest, and Warren counties; preserve a record of prominent residents at the time of publication (1913); to present thorough personal sketches of the relation between prominent families from all time periods to the growth, prosperity, and influence of the Allegheny Valley.
