William Patten and his family were living at Cambridge, Massachusetts, by 1635. He and his wife, Mary (d. 1673), had at least six children, the youngest four born at Cambridge. He died at Cambridge in 1668. Descendants of his sons, Thomas Patten (1638-1690) and Nathaniel Patten (1643-1725), listed lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Illinois, and elsewhere.
