The Crossover Teacher

The Crossover Teacher describes the integration of public school faculties. It involves white and black teachers who went into schools formerly of the opposite race (crossover teachers). Author Steve Stephens was a schoolteacher and principal during this tumultuous time in the South in the 1960s and ’70s, when the federal courts forced integration. He personally experienced most of the events in this book. Particularly he wants America to see how difficult integration was for the black teacher.
