Description

Traveling by steamboat to New Orleans in 1828, young Tad Hopkins is robbed and thrown overboard. He finds shelter on a moored flatboat, and the next morning discovers a breakfast being cooked by "Abe" a lanky dark-haired youth, on his own first trip downriver. The dangers of river travel are joined by the attempts of the outlaws to kidnap the boy before he joins his father.
