George Hume (1698-1760), second son of Sir George Hume, immigrated in 1721 from Scotland to Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and married Elizabeth Proctor. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia and elsewhere.
