John Gerrish (1668-1736/1738) was a grandson of English immigrant to Newbury in 1639 and to Boston in 1768 of William Gerrish and his first wife, Joanna Lowle. John was a son of John Gerrish and Elizabeth Waldron, and was born at Dover, New Hampshire. He married (1) Lydia Watts and (2) Sarah Hobbes and was a conspicuous merchant and ship-owner in Boston. Descendants and relatives lives in New England and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Canada.
