ABOUT THE BOOK Dr Samir Kumar Hui is an outstanding bilingual poet and a renowned short story writer writing both in odia and English. He heads the department of English at Dhamnagar College in Bhadrak District ,Odisha,India .Dr Hui is a crusader ,a reformer from his childhood and he has four publications to his credit. His maiden anthology An Odyssey ,A Rebellion ,A New Beginning, Burning Flame are his outstanding creations.Dr Hui is a people’s poet. He has remarkable sensitivity to gauge and guess common man’s problems and aspirations. His work is extremely contemporary. He is a poet of the present with a vision for the future. He understands well what ails society and communicates the same with lot of pathos and palpable reality. He understands well man’s mind that is labyrinth caught in the web of poverty, greed, senseless and crude passions. Hence Prof Hui attempts to prick the sleeping conscience of man. Prof Hui’s work is a panoramic as well meticulous presentation of the mundane as well as critical aspects of contemporary Indian society . However he writes in a manner that delights the heart easily. Without losing and ignoring the beauties of the language ,he writes poetry that has all the charms. He is a poet for all not merely the erudite and the educated. His work is relatable and accessible . He raises pertinent issues but in a beautiful and easy manner. Prof Hui is making an immense contribution to Indian English poetry with his meaningful and memorable verse commentaries .
