The Johns (John, Jones) and their allied families were Baptists who came from Wales to America ca. 1701, and settled in Delaware and Pennsylvania, then later migrated into Georgia, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York,, and North and South Carolina. Some focus is on (but not limited to) the Johns (Jones) families descended from Griffith John who died in Delaware in 1749. During the 1800's, some families also lived in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee (esp. Cherokee Territory), Texas, Virginia, and in England. Later descendants also lived in France. Germany, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Viet Nam, and in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Wyoming, and elsewhere.
